This is an ideal opportunity for our local community to have perhaps its hardest route yet developed by a respectful and experienced steward of the Flatirons. Judging by the quality of 'Choose Life,' I suspect that Americana would prove to be a very fruitful effort.

It is awesome that the wheel has turned and that this route is now available again. Chip Ruckgrabber should get the credit for discovering this line. He talked Colin and I into going up there with him. And tufa was exactly how Chip described the feature. That was the day the old anchor went in. It looked so hard back to us in '89 that Colin didn't bother drilling any bolts below the anchor. It was only a week or two later that the bolting moratorium went in. Way to go getting after the best looking pitch in The Flatirons!

No reason not to do this as
1) The additional part of the line does not encroach on other lines.
2) The shared part of the line is on a route of similar character and will not diminish the existing climb.
